Entering the ice surfaces is prohibited!!!

Even though temperatures may have been well below zero in the last few days,

We warn against walking on the ice. The ice is not thick enough for safe walking and use. Lakes, rivers, and streams in particular contain hazards that are not visible from the outside, such as currents where the water is warmer. This means that the ice layer at the edge may appear stable, but just a few centimeters further away, it can be only a few millimeters thick.

The ice must be at least 20 cm thick to be stable. A few days of frost are far from sufficient for this. The district and fire departments will inform you about when and on which bodies of water it is safe to ice skate. Until then, please note the following:

  • under no circumstances should you enter ice on lakes, streams and rivers
  • Explain to your children how dangerous this can be for them
  • If you see children on such an ice surface, do not hesitate to call them off the ice immediately.
  • Under no circumstances should you go onto the ice yourself
  • If you witness an ice break, call the emergency number immediately 112!!!
