Fire extinguishers prevent major fires

Fire extinguishers are ideal tools for fighting incipient fires and preventing major damage. Owning one is therefore recommended for every household. However, the reality is that often only those households that are required to do so by law are equipped with a "red damage limiter."

Except in the commercial sector, fire extinguishers are essentially required near boiler rooms, heating oil storage rooms and when storing more than 620 liters of heating oil in buildings outside of heating oil storage rooms.

Fire extinguishers must be regularly inspected by qualified personnel at least every two years. They must be kept in clearly visible locations that are easily accessible and accessible at all times.

Fire extinguishers use water, foam, dry chemicals, and carbon dioxide as extinguishing agents. ABC powder extinguishers, which are suitable for flammable solid, liquid, and gaseous substances, are particularly recommended.

This means they can be used almost anywhere and are easy to handle.

Carbon dioxide extinguishers are designed to extinguish liquid and gaseous substances and are often used in the area of electrical systems to avoid residues.
